SpectraLink buys Kirk as part of international expansion

BOULDER, Colo.-SpectraLink Corp., which provides workplace wireless telephone services, said it plans to acquire Kirk Telecom, a Denmark-based company that provides on-site wireless communications products.

Terms of the definitive agreement call for SpectraLink to pay $61.3 million in cash to acquire all of Kirk’s stock. The transaction is scheduled to close early next year. Kirk will continue operating under the Kirk name.

SpectraLink said the acquisition will extend its international presence and expand its product portfolio. The company said it will offer all major enterprise wireless voice technologies including Wi-Fi, DECT and proprietary systems.
