    AT&T extends a winning streak

AT&T has again taken the top spot in J.D. Power’s annual survey of wireless customer service experiences. 6,500 people were surveyed; all of them contacted their carrier’s customer service center at some point during the second half of 2014, and only the top four U.S. carriers were part of the survey.
This is the third time in a row that AT&T has earned the number one spot in this survey; the carrier also took the top position during the first half of 2014 and the last half of 2013.
Research from Argus Insights reinforces AT&T’s strong customer service. The firm collects and analyzes online customer reviews of carrier service, and its most recent report puts AT&T ahead of Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile (in that order.)

Sprint said to eye Radio Shack stores

In other news, some investors are keeping a close eye on Sprint’s financials because the company is said to be in talks with Radio Shack about buying some of Radio Shack’s retail stores and rebranding them as Sprint stores. Radio Shack has been struggling to meet its financial obligations and has been delisted from the New York Stock Exchange.
At the end of last year Sprint had $3.5 billion in cash on its balance sheet — meanwhile Radio Shack’s entire market value is less than $15 million.
