Ericsson Cyberlab to help IDA trial wireless technology

SINGAPORE—Singapore’s telecom regulator Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) appointed Ericsson Cyberlab Singapore as the first assessment center to promote the development of the wireless industry through its Pilots and Trial Hotspots (PATH).

Ericsson Cyberlab’s role is to evaluate wireless application trial proposals submitted by developers and service providers against guidelines set by IDA. The proposals will be assessed for technical soundness and commercial viability, IDA said.

Final approval will then be made by IDA, which will provide funding and support to assist developers and providers in conducting trials.
