BETHESDA, Md.-Iridium Satellite L.L.C. said it has made an agreement with Verizon Airfone that calls for the company to sell Iridium services to its general aviation operators.
According to the agreement, Verizon Airfone will use the services to supplement its existing MagnaStar system, which is a terrestrial-based communications system for aircraft operating in North American airspace. The Iridium services will provide service outside of domestic coverage areas, said the company.
