WESTERN TO BUILD ALBUQUERQUE CENTER

ISSAQUAH, Wash.-Western Wireless Corp. began construction of a new customer service and technical support center in Albuquerque, N.M. The company said the 65,000 square foot facility will be open by fall.

Initially, 200 employees will work at the facility, and the company expects to add 500 more people over the next three years.

Western Wireless said it chose Albuquerque because of industrial revenue bonds sponsored by the Albuquerque City Council. New Mexico also committed $1 million in in-plant training funds to train residents for positions available at the facility.
