| Mobile Minute: Sprint is not the only company making executive changes this week as Microsoft said yesterday that is has hired Qualcomm’s Peggy Johnson to lead business development. At Qualcomm, Johnson served as EVP of Qualcomm Technologies and president of global market development. She has a strong software background, and was part of a Qualcomm team that created an ecosystem of app developers before most people had even heard of mobile apps. Johnson has spoken often about the opportunities that mobile broadband can create for people in the developing world who do not yet have access to healthcare and education. At Microsoft, she will be responsible for driving strategic business deals and partnerships across various industries with key customers, strategic innovation partners, OEMs, key accounts, third-party publishers and industry influencers.
