Omnipoint Communications Corp., Message Center Management and Motiva Enterprises L.L.C. signed an agreement for Omnipoint to install wireless infrastructure equipment in 500 Shell and Texaco retail sites in the New England and Westchester county, N.Y., markets. “Message Center Management and Motiva offer us a quick and easy process for the installation of our equipment on these properties,” said Charles Johnston, chief operations officer for Omnipoint Communications. MCM is the exclusive site manager and will oversee all aspects of the wireless installations.

Boston Communications Group Inc. announced the successful implementation of two Sun Enterprise 1000 servers and Oracle High Availability database software. The new hardware and software platform reduces single points of system failure and decreases the need for manual intervention to restore service to its prepaid wireless customers.
Prime Companies Inc. signed a binding letter of intent to acquire all of the issued and outstanding shares of Worldnet Tel.com Inc. in a stock transaction. Worldnet Tel.com provides telecommunications services to commercial and consumer customers primarily in California. The company won 12 local multipoint distribution services licenses at auction.
With the addition of Denver and New Orleans, Paging Network Inc. announced it has converted 25 percent of its offices to the new Centers of Excellence infrastructure. Not included in the transition are the company’s offices in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Metairie, La.
