The Dutch firm’s solution offers support for consumer and industrial IoT devices
Dutch digital security specialist Gemalto is supplying Com4, a dedicated M2M / IoT operator, with an On-Demand Connectivity solution that will support secure remote SIM provisioning in the Internet of Things (IoT) market.
Gemalto’s solution enables Com4 to offer customers out-of-the-box connectivity and over-the-air subscription management for a vast range of IoT devices and applications, commencing with Norway’s largest smart metering rollout.
Gemalto’s On-Demand Connectivity solution facilitates secure and interoperable support for virtually any type of consumer or industrial IoT device, across all networks. Subscriptions can be activated, updated and modified remotely over the complete product lifecycle.
Gemalto already supplies Com4 with eSIMs, which are soldered into IoT devices at the manufacturing stage.

Trusted Objects and Sigfox partner to offer end-to-end security to Internet of Things apps
In related news, Trusted Objects, a security specialist for the Internet of Things (IoT), has released its Secure Element designed for connected solutions on the Sigfox network. The embedded hardware technology will offer Sigfox’s ecosystem of partners an enhanced security level to protect their data integrity, comparable to security solutions in the payments industry.
The Secure Element securely stores Sigfox device ID, Network Authentication Key and Encryption Key with the same security level as banking smart cards.
