Keysight didn’t wait long to make good on its CEO’s remarks that the company has a “strong” appetite for acquisition, announcing this week that it is expanding its equipment calibration and repair support with the purchase of U.K.-based Electroservices Enterprises for an undisclosed amount.
Keysight President and CEO Ron Nersesian said during the Q&A portion of the company’s recent quarterly call that as it pertains to acquisitions, “our appetite is strong. We’re looking to grow and have the absolute strongest portfolio in the wireless communications market, the aerospace and defense market, and the industrial markets. So we’re looking and we will continue to look for strategic acquisitions.”
Keysight closed on the $600 million purchase of U.K.-based test company Anite earlier in August, and clarified shortly afterward that the use of Anite’s name and operations continue to be supported in much the same way as prior to the transaction.
Electroservices Enterprises focuses on test equipment services, including mechanical, electrical and physical calibration as well as repair and asset management for defense, telecom and industrial customers. According to its website, the company has around 90 employees and a large facility in Halesfield. In addition to a long history of working on test equipment, the company bolstered its position in data acquisition systems and specialized test rig manufacturing for the aerospace industry with purchases in 2013.
The two purchases of Anite and Electroservices Enterprises significantly expand Keysight’s presence in the U.K. and Europe as well as the range of complementary test-related services it provides.
Chris Rennie, who is European GM for services and managing director for Keysight Technologies U.K., said in a statement that the move “demonstrates Keysight’s commitment to offer customers in Europe a rapidly expanding spectrum of high-quality support services covering their full range of assets.”
