Mobile Minute: AT&T says Aio service restored

AT&T is thanking its Aio customers for their patience this morning after a service outage kept many users from sending and receiving calls and messages last night. AT&T says service is now fully restored.

Aio is an AT&T prepaid brand that offers unlimited talk, text and data starting at $40/month. AT&T launched Aio earlier this year, before it announced its acquisition of Leap Wireless, which owns Cricket. Now that AT&T is buying Leap, it has decided to make Aio part of Cricket once the deal closes. But AT&T says Aio customers will not need to get new phones or change their phone numbers.
