CliQr Technologies launches, claims cloud computing transformation

Betting on changes in how cloud computing works, CliQr Technologies launched today (June 26). Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, the new privately held company is backed by venture capital companies, including Google Ventures and Foundation Capital. Along with the launch, CliQr Technologies unveiled a new cloud application management platform named CloudCenter.

Speaking with RCR Wireless News, Gaurav Manglik, co-founder and CEO of CliQr Technologies, said that cloud computing will change the way businesses think about interacting with information resources. He referred to the current Cloud 1.0 era as “”one app, one cloud” and noted the advance of the next generation of Cloud 2.0, which will allow any app to work with any cloud, or combination of clouds, seamlessly and securely (check out the company’s video).

Manglik did not disclose how much revenue he predicts the company will make, but he did say there are plans—although not in the short termto expand operations to other regions.

CliQr Technologies claims that CloudCenter is an approachable platform that looks at the task of cloud computing from an application’s perspective, going beyond the simple notion of multi-cloud and moving away from application dependencies on cloud specific APIs and images.
