The three most populous states in America each saw significant job growth during the last 12 months, according to data released today by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. California, Texas and New York were the leaders among the 27 states that experienced statistically significant increases in employment. California added 250,700 jobs, Texas added 248,500 jobs and New York added 98,100 jobs.
In September, 25 states reported over-the-month unemployment rate decreases, 14 had increases, and 11 and the District of Columbia had no change. Nonfarm payroll employment decreased in 25 states, increased in 24 states and the district, and was unchanged in 1 state.
