Alliances: Qualcomm equips charging stations; Avaya renews Trapeze contract; and more

Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) and ECOtality Inc. (ECTY) have teamed up to implement cellular connectivity into vehicle charging stations. The solution will allow ECOtality to use a commercial cellular network to manage its Blink brand charging station operators, transfer usage data, download firmware updates and publish availability to electric vehicle drivers in real time.
TeleTech (TTEC) has formed a strategic alliance with Lithium Technologies to develop a social customer solution that combines traditional customer relationship management offerings with social customer technologies. The companies said the combined solution will give enterprises new sources of revenue, customer management, knowledge management and customer analytic opportunities.
Avaya and Trapeze/Belden Inc. signed a definitive agreement to reconfirm their partnership to resell wireless solutions. The term of the contract is through March 2015. The contract expands on an agreement between Trapeze and Nortel’s Enterprise Solutions business, which Avaya acquired in 2009.
RTL Belgium has begun marketing the launch of its mobile personalization platform developed by Vringo Inc. (VRNGU). The marketing push includes video ads for TV and Web.
WiMAX baseband company MediaTek Inc. said it signed a licensing agreement with NTT DoCoMo for the carrier’s fourth-generation LTE mobile terminal platform.
Telit Wireless Solutions Inc. said its UC864-G module has earned certification on the AT&T wireless network. The product is a 3.5G wireless data module designed that supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA technologies.
