Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications L.P. has tapped Mobile Complete to power a remote testing service of Java applications on mobile phones.
The handset maker launched a “Virtual Lab” that allows application developers to test their wares online across Sony Ericsson handsets that have yet to hit the market. The remote testing service is available to members of Sony Ericsson’s development community, and is offered in two pricing packages.
“Java developers are increasingly looking for testing providers that can deliver a complete, integrated solution that addresses all of the stages of the product development lifecycle including testing, reporting and monitoring,” said Mobile Complete CEO Faraz Syed. “Sony Ericsson is the first device manufacturer to offer developers this kind of service for pre-commercial phones.”
The news marks another big win for Mobile Compete, a Silicon Valley-based startup founded in 2003. The company’s other customers include AT&T Mobility, Sprint Nextel Corp., EA Mobile, Microsoft Corp. and Motorola Inc.
