VZW signs new exclusive deal with YouTube

Verizon Wireless announced another exclusive deal with YouTube, allowing subscribers to record video with their phones and upload the clips directly to the site via a short code.
Verizon Wireless users who have updated their YouTube accounts with their mobile numbers can upload and post videos by sending the clips to 98823, or YTUBE. The service is free aside from messaging charges, and is available on more than two dozen video-capable handsets from the operator.
The carrier late last year struck an exclusive deal allowing Vcast users to view selected YouTube videos from their handsets. That pact expired last month, when the popular video-sharing site made the select videos available through to any U.S. operator through a wireless Web site.
