Venture capital financing wrap-up: AdaptiveMobile, Hop-On, WiQuest and more

The following list includes venture capital and other investments into wireless companies announced during the past week. The value of the investment is included when available.
–Adaptive Mobile: Doughty Hanson, an early-stage venture-capital fund, led AdaptiveMobile’s $14 million second-round financing. Other investors included Noor Financial Investment Co. and Intel Capital. The funds will be used to continue the company’s global expansion. AdaptiveMobile provides mobile usage protection and mobile security software.
–Aylus Networks: Matrix Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners invested $15 million in Aylus Networks Inc., which offers a real-time multimedia sharing solution for mobile networks. The financing is its second round of venture-capital funding.
–Blue Lion Mobile: Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments participated in a “multimillion Euro” Series A funding round into Blue Lion Mobile, developer of the Qeep mobile social messenger service.
–CrossRoad Mobile: SilverBirch Inc. plans to buy a majority stake in CrossRoad Mobile L.L.C., a mobile content, auction and billing company based in Dallas. The purchase price includes $200,000 cash at closing, 2 million SilverBirch common shares and $180,000 VTB secured against CrossRoad assets, said the companies. SilverBirch also will assume $175,000 in debt.
–DVC Labs: Trinity Ventures and Matrix Partners co-led a $4.8 million investment in DVC Labs, which has developed a technology that enhances the Web browsing experience on mobile phones. The Series A financing will allow the company to expand its engineering and marketing efforts and continue product development. As part of the investment, Trinity Ventures’ Larry Orr and Matrix Partners’ Andrew Verhalen will join the company’s board of directors.
–Eye-Fi: Opus Capital and Shasta Ventures co-led a $5.5 million investment in wireless digital photography company Eye-Fi. The Series A funding will be used for product development, operations, support, marketing and production, said the company.
–Hop-On: GBM invested $17.4 million into Hop-On Inc. which will be used for Skype-phone development.
–Kyte.tv: Nokia Growth Partners invested in Kyte.tv, which provides a service that allows users to create interactive TV channels online.
–Nanoradio: Norwegian investment company Ferd Venture and other firms invested $27 million into Nanoradio AB, which provides low-power Wi-Fi solutions. Other investors included Nordic Venture Partners, Innovacom, Teknoinvest and Industrifonden.
–OnePIN: Greycroft Partners led an $8 million round of financing into OnePIN Inc., which developed the CallerXchange mobile contact service. FA Technology Ventures and Egan-Managed Capital also participated in the company’s Series B financing round. Funds will be used to accelerate development of the company’s product suite and deploy products.
–WiQuest: Several investors invested $28 million into fabless seminconductor company WiQuest Communications Inc. The Series C round of funding included participation from Adams Street Partners, the D.E. Shaw group, TriplePoint Capital, Sequoia Capital, Menlo Ventures, Palomar Ventures and iD Ventures America. The funding included $23 million in private equity financing and up to $5 million in growth capital funding.
