MetroPCS Communications Inc. extended its contract with TeleCommunications Systems Inc. for the company to provide hosted E911 services to the flat-rate carrier.
The contract between the two companies has been extended for three years; additional terms were not disclosed.
“The contract extension demonstrates MetroPCS’ continued confidence and satisfaction in the delivery of our . certified hosted E911 services,” said Dan Allen, senior VP of TCS’ service bureau.
TCS’ product enables operators to send wireless call location information to the appropriate public-safety center when a user makes a 911 call.
TCS counts Alltel Corp., Leap Wireless International Inc. and other carriers as customers.
