PopCap Games announced it hired Andrew Stein, who most recently served as the senior marketing manager of games for AT&T Mobility’s Media Mall. The move is the latest in the ongoing executive shuffle at the nation’s largest carriers.
PopCap said Stein would take over the newly created position of director of mobile business development.
“While spearheading the marketing of mobile games for the largest cellular carrier in North America over the past several years, I’ve seen PopCap’s games show up on the top-ten lists month after month,” said Stein. “From the games themselves to the company’s management team and business philosophy, I’ve been utterly impressed with PopCap and am thrilled to be joining at such an exciting time in the company’s history.”
Stein spent the past three years overseeing the launch and marketing of games on Cingular’s games deck.
Other recent executive moves include key mobile and advertising chiefs at Sprint Nextel Corp. and AT&T’s VP of consumer and business data services.
