Sling Media Inc. expanded the availability of its SlingPlayer Mobile product to the Palm operating system, which is available on a handful of devices, including Palm Inc.’s Treo 700p smartphone.
Sling Media said the place-shifting software was available as a public beta for customers in the U.S. and Canada via its software download page. The company already provides mobile support for Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Mobile 5.0 and Pocket PC operating systems.
Sling Media added that once the final version of the Palm OS product is announced, which is expected during the second quarter, the software will cost $30 and include a free, 30-day trial.
