NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif.-Disney Mobile has added a slim, silver clamshell phone from Pantech Corp. as its third handset choice for subscribers.
The Bluetooth-enabled DM-P205 has a VGA camera, color interior and exterior screens and web browsing capability. It sells for $100 with a two-year contract.
The price tag makes Pantech’s new handset the most expensive of the mobile virtual network operator’s three phones. Disney Mobile offers another Pantech clamshell for free after instant and mail-in rebates, and the MVNO’s red flip phone from LG Electronics Co. Ltd. is $50 after rebates.
The mobile virtual network operator also has another silver flip phone in the works, this one with a cover that features Mickey Mouse in his earliest incarnation in the 1938 cartoon “Steamboat Willie.”
Disney Mobile’s current promotions include one free month of service, and a “holiday family plan” that includes 1,000 shared daytime minutes for $70 per month.
