BURNHAM, United Kingdom-Cingular Wireless has chosen wireless test systems from Racal Instruments Wireless Solutions (RIWS) to ensure a high level of service quality while it deploys its 2.5-generation network and network optimization technologies.
Cingular will use RIWS’ Two-Way Air Interface Monitor to identify network and terminal interoperability issues related to its EDGE network. The carrier will also use a 6103 AMR Air Interface Monitor Emulator system to address requirements of Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) in its GSM network.
“Having a tool that can rapidly and accurately identify the source of any real or potential problems that might affect network performance or quality of service is critical to Cingular Wireless being able to roll out its AMR and EDGE networks with confidence,” said Amir Ghanouni of RIWS.
