WASHINGTON-A prime-time special of ABC Television Network’s “The View” will feature real-time interactivity in which viewers can respond to multiple choice quiz questions via mobile phone, the Internet or digital set-top box.
Proteus Inc.’s wireless interactive TV service will allow viewers with wireless service from AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless, Sprint PCS and Nextel to vote via mobile phones during the broadcast. Interactive television recently gained momentum in the United States through the television show “American Idol,” during which viewers could vote via mobile phones for their favorite performers. However, only AT&T Wireless customers were eligible for voting during that show.
The prime-time special of “The View,” called “The View: His & Her Body Test,” airs June 16.
