RESTON, Va.-Nextel Communications Inc. unveiled its Wireless E911: The PSAP Readiness Fund, which the carrier said will coordinate the dissemination of $25 million to the public safety community to improve wireless enhanced E911 services across the country.
The fund, which recently held its initial board meeting in Reston, Va., said it has received grant requests from the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officers International and the National Emergency Number Association.
