ATLANTA-BellSouth Cellular Corp. and Hughes Network Systems Inc. announced they completed a switch conversion in 15 BellSouth cities and many other smaller markets in the Southeast.
BellSouth deployed the GMH 2000tm network, which currently services the analog cellular system and is digital-ready for Time Division Multiple Access deployment.
“The last cutover in Jackson, Miss., is a culmination of a superior achievement by our vendor and our employees in the continuing effort to provide our customers with state-of-the-art infrastructure and services,” said Bob Frame, executive vice president of BellSouth Cellular.
