With the evolution of wireless networks towards virtualization, edge computing and, eventually 5G, operators, enterprises and public entities have the analytics tools to harness huge amounts of data to optimize how they deliver or use services and enable IoT and other enterprise applications.

In this conversation, I talked with Caroline Chan about the network implications from analytics as we move towards virtualized and distributed networks, and how IoT will be a major growth driver in transforming wireless networks. Caroline is a Vice President in the Data Center Group and the General Manager of 5G Infrastructure Division at Intel.

“We know that a lot of data is being stored and analyzed in the cloud. We want to aid the use of the analytics that are coming from the edge – coming from all the devices that are going to be out there collecting all this information,” Caroline told us.
