Former Federal Communications Commission member Jonathan Adelstein, the current president and CEO of PCIA, the Wireless Infrastructure Association, called New York City the “envy” of the wireless world.

RCR Wireless News wanted to dig into that claim and took the opportunity to take a look at the recent Telecom Exchange event in Manhattan.

In this episode of HetNet Happenings, RCR Wireless News CEO and Editorial Director Jeff Mucci

Christopher Fisher, president and founding board member of the New York State Wireless Association, discusses the challenges of deploying DAS systems in New York, how NYSWA works with providers to develop better networks, and gives his thoughts on the trends in the evolving telecommunications industry.

Greg Weiner, partner and co-founder at Vertix Consulting, talks about the difficulty in deploying wireless infrastructure in New York.

The RCR Wireless News crew also got down into the subway system with Transit Wireless and SOLiD to take a look at the equipment that brings cellular underground.
