Vivendi Games said it will distribute some of its mobile titles through Nokia Corp.’s Download Application and Nokia Catalogues.
Download is embedded on more than 50 Nokia handsets including NSeries and ESeries devices and offers a rotation of recent mobile game releases. Vivendi said franchises such as “Crash,” “Spyro” and “Leisure Suit Larry” will be available through Download; Nokia will offer related content such as wallpapers and ringtones.
Vivendi is also supporting Nokia’s N-Gage platform, which is slated for launch in the next few weeks following two postponements.
“The challenge in the mobile games value chain is not only to make great games and attract customers, but also in the effective merchandising of games and the ease with which consumers can find, purchase and download games,” said Vivendi Games Mobile President Paul Maglione. “(Download) is a new and promising distribution channel that crates further impulse-buy opportunities for our titles and also allows customers to enjoy the best mobile games on demand.”
