KANSAS CITY-Securicor Wireless Inc. acquired a 220 MHz nationwide license from Global Cellular Communications Inc., advancing its goal of creating a national wireless 220 MHz network for next-generation, narrowband-based technology and products.
The Global Cellular license covers existing Securicor airtime service markets including Boston and parts of New England, as well as previously unavailable metro areas where Securicor expects to expand its operations.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
