SkyGo tests wireless marketing platform

SAN MATEO, Calif.-SkyGo Inc., a wireless interactive marketing company, announced it will launch a wireless marketing platform with a market research study beginning Sept. 29 in Boulder, Colo.

SkyGo will issue more than 1,000 Internet-enabled phones to participants, who will get advertising and marketing messages on their phones during the four-month trial to test the effectiveness of wireless direct marketing.

The ads will contain rewards, offers, discounts, coupons, rebates, cash prizes and sweepstakes. SkyGo said it will experiment with different advertising methods for both targeted and untargeted messages.

Several national advertising agencies, digital and direct marketers, Internet firms and credit card companies, as well as local merchants are partnering with SkyGo for the trial.
