SAO PAULO -(Dow Jones)- Telefonica SA (TEF, TEF.MC) wants to almost triple the number of Brazilian cities that have access to its third-generation, or 3G, service by the end of next year. The company plans to end this year with 4.6 billion Brazilian reais ($2.7 billion) of investment in the country.
Telefonica plans to reach 2,830 municipalities by the end of next year, after ending this year with 1,050 municipalities served by 3G systems, Chief Executive Antonio Carlos Valente said Wednesday in Sao Paulo.
