AT&T expands U-verse programming to mobile devices

AT&T Inc. said its customers can now use their cell phones to control their home digital video recorders through the company’s U-verse TV service.
The San Antonio-based firm launched a service that allows mobile users with any compatible AT&T handset using WAP 2.0 to search U-verse program listings, schedule recordings and manage or delete stored DVR content. The offering expands on the company’s remote-programming service that allows users to manage DVR content via the Internet.
“Any television viewer can relate to the frustration of forgetting to program his or her DVR,” said Rick Welday, chief marketing officer for AT&T Consumer. “Now, whether they’re at the airport or stuck in traffic, AT&T U-verse customers can rest assured they won’t miss their favorite shows.”
