Apcela aims to improve machine learning with Enhanced Analytics Platform
Application delivery company Apcela is breaking into machine learning with the deployment of its Enhanced Analytics Platform (EAP). Accompanying the platform is a SD-WAN API, which extends Cisco’s SD-WAN solution with Elastic’s ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana (ELK).
Apcela noted this is the first SD-WAN solution supported by its EAP, a SaaS application that collects data components in a cloud stack. It enables enterprises to aggregate, analyze and automate network performance information for deeper insights and intent-based remediation. According to Apcela, the Cisco SD-WAN API adds SD-WAN data to the platform, and is intended to reduce the time it takes to diagnose and resolve network performance issues due to fluid application requirements.
The company added that while Cisco SD-WAN deployments provide some log retention in the vManage portal, data visualization and analytical capabilities are limited on account of static data sets. Apcela’s EAP aims to address these hurdles by integrating SD-WAN data with other network operational data and systems logs for correlation and analyses. Additionally, ELK enables support for third-party components, including Amazon AWS, Cloudflare, Oracle, Palo Alto, VMware, zScaler and others.
Among some of the capabilities of Apcela’s EPA and the SD-WAN API include: collecting Cisco SD-WAN and other network and application data into an indexed, query-able database; retaining over six months of operational data; conducting correlative analysis between Cisco SD-WAN operational data and other systems; and implementing sophisticated monitoring and alerting capabilities.
