Reflecting changing network architectures, InfoVista is focusing on service assurance for centralized Radio Access Network with the recent addition of new service assurance capabilities for fronthaul and backhaul in virtualized networks.
The company also boosted its sales teams with Europe and North America with new leadership.
InfoVista’s new “xhaul” and C-RAN service assurance features for its VistaInsight platform is targeted at maintaining transport network quality of service in network function virtualization-based networks, and InfoVista said that its approach “paves the way for seamless transformation of mobile radio networks to NFV-based 5G networks” including network slicing.
“Mobile network operators are constantly under operational and financial pressure to cope with the exponential growth of mobile traffic for which centralized RAN is being adopted to help increase network coverage, capacity and efficiency,” said Cyril Doussau, VP of service assurance strategy for InfoVista.
The offering includes analytics on availability, reliability, latency and capacity for maintenance of network slices and insights into fronthaul and backhaul performance for both network operations and network planning purposes, InfoVista added. The company also said that its platform is a way to enable data normalization from multiple sources of customer data in a hybrid network, for assessment of the conditions in a multi-technology, multi-vendor environment.
InfoVista brings on new leaders in regional sales teams for Europe and the Americas
InfoVista has made two recent changes to its regional sales leadership. The company this week announced James Bristow’s appointment as senior vice president of sales for Europe; he joins InfoVista after having held senior positions at companies including Juniper Networks, Broadsoft and Alcatel Enterprise as well as startup companies in multiple regions.
In the Americas, InfoVista recently brought on Dallas, Tex.-based Andy Asava to serve as its head of sales; he will oversee both sales and professional services for the company’s communications service provider, mobile operator and enterprise operations in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean and Latin America with a focus on growth in software-defined WAN, the internet of things, first responder networks, service assurance and migration to 5G.
Asava joins InfoVista from Genband, where he served as senior vice president of enterprise sales; he also spent 16 years with Nortel Networks.
