Austrian group A1 Telekom has acquired Bulgarian system integrator STEMO for an undisclosed fee, in order to bolster its proposition for corporate clients, notably international corporate clients, in Bulgaria and beyond. The deal will feed back into A1 group businesses across central and eastern Europe. A1 said it “shapes another pillar” in the company strategy, namely around digital transformation of enterprises.
STEMO, around for three decades, claims a complete telecoms and IT (ICT) portfolio in Bulgaria, covering system integration, cloud and managed services, software development, and managed customer support. The company is a partner for the likes of HP, Microsoft, and SAP in the country, and has implemented “a number of” system integration and solution development projects for the local private and public sectors.
А1 Bulgaria, one of seven subsidiaries of A1 group, is a major player for “ICT and NB-IoT” in Bulgaria, a statement declared. It has its own partnerships and setups with Cisco, Dell, IBM, and SAP in Bulgaria. A statement said: “STEMO will work with A1 Bulgaria to further improve and expand its integrated IT business solutions for corporate clients. The collaboration in the field of system integration, IT infrastructure, connectivity, cyber security, and video surveillance will lead to substantial synergies and growth opportunities.”
Alexander Dimitrov, chairman of the board and chief executive of A1 in Bulgaria, said: “The acquisition… will help our common goal to solve the challenges which our corporate clients face with the help of the new technologies in the most quick and efficient manner. [It] is a natural step in the development of our IT expertise, and it will allow us to offer more complex technological solutions to private, public and government entities, no matter their industry or size.”
