Kritek, a provider of intelligent transportation services and Skyline Products, a provider of dynamic message signs, announced a strategic partnership to offer turnkey smart city solutions Kritek and Skyline will initially focus on an offering for smart trip travel times to provide estimated route times to the traveling public.
“Customers are looking for turnkey solutions that tightly integrate software and hardware to solve specific transportation needs. Our partnership provides an out-of-the-box solution to today’s congested roadways, posting current trip travel times to signage on well-traveled routes,” Pawan Kharbanda, CEO of Kritek, said. Traffic management is a key smart city application.
“As the ITS industry moves toward increasingly intelligent traffic systems, robust hardware-software integration has become critical to efficient traffic management. Partnering with Klover allows us both to meet an important customer need, providing a unique, field-ready solution that keeps traffic moving safely on crowded roadways,” Chip Stadjuhar, president and CEO of Skyline Products, said.
Kritek and Skyline look to extend their partnership to incorporate other turnkey solutions for other smart city applications such as parking availability, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and transit.
Kritek’s core product is the Klover smart transportation platform, which is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that brings together big data, cloud computing, modern browser technologies and the internet of things to create a platform to manage transportation infrastructure.
CalAmp joins road safety coalition
In related news, Together for Safer Roads (TSR), a coalition of global private sector companies working together to improve road safety, said that IoT firm CalAmp has joined the coalition.
CalAmp offers a range of road safety services, including LoJack, CrashBoxx, FleetOutlook, and SureDrive.
