Neville Meijers, Vice President, Business Development, Qualcomm Technologies Inc.
Neville Meijers is the vice president of business development for Qualcomm Technologies Inc.. In this role, Meijers leads the continued development of the cross company cellular-based shared spectrum technologies, with a particular focus on Private LTE-based Industrial IoT Networks to serve the needs of the Industrial, Manufacturing Construction, Logistic, Mining, Oil and Gas and Transportation segments. He is a board member of the MulteFire Alliance and the Chairman of CBRS Alliance. Prior to this, Meijers led a number of different projects including the Qualcomm Small Cells business, the enablement of high quality, low cost delivery of live and non-real time media over LTE Broadcast networks and building proximity based platforms to deliver new retail and consumer use cases and business models. In 2008 Meijers joined Qualcomm as General Manager of MediaFLO International, Qualcomm’s internationally focused mobile broadcast business unit.
Before joining Qualcomm, Meijers worked for Discovery Communications where he served as executive vice president of Discovery Communications’ Antenna Audio, a world leader in audio and multimedia. He has held senior executive positions in the areas of corporate strategy and business development for Discovery Communications worldwide and was executive vice president and managing director for Discovery Networks Asia based out of Singapore. Meijers’ background combines a wealth of technical experience and global business success in the broadcast and Internet industries from his many years in C-level executive positions with Naspers and MIH – two of the world’s leading international media companies.
Meijers is a native of South Africa and earned both a master of business administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
