Learn more about NWSA’s mission and benchmarking efforts in the industry

The National Wireless Safety Alliance has launched an official website. The organization officially launched in February of this year, the site is designed to “provide thorough, independent assessments of knowledge and skills and provide verifiable worker certification in order to enhance safety, reduce workplace risk, improve quality, encourage training, and recognize the skilled professionals who work on towers and other non-standard structures,” according to the website’s about section.

The organization’s first exposure came at the National Association of Tower Erector’s 2015 NATE Unite Conference. NATE’s Executive Director Todd Schlekeway spoke to RCR Wireless News regarding the launch of the NWSA website.

The website hopes to track benchmarks for the organization, as well as the industry itself, as training and safety increase.

“The NWSA is committed to providing timely and relevant updates to the industry as key benchmarks are achieved in the establishment of the organization. This website will be a valuable platform for stakeholders throughout the wireless industry to receive information on the NWSA,” said Chuck Slagle, NWSA consultant and a former Sprint Environmental Health and Safety Executive.

The organization recently put out an open call to tower climbers for board members, but none are listed on the website as of yet, so perhaps it’s not too late to submit your name if you’re interested.
