Today’s top stories:

  • Target confirmed that it will be launching prepaid phone service using T-Mobile’s network. Pricing starts at $35 a month for unlimited talk and text, and for another $15 you can get a gigabyte of data.
  • And speaking of prepaid, China’s ZTE wants to offer prepaid customers a high-end smartphone. It’s launching its ZTE nubia 5 and Grand S in U.S., priced at $450 and $400, respectively. The phones will NOT be available through carriers, instead they will be sold unlocked through Amazon and Walmart.com
  • And finally, schools are teaching Apple a lesson about iOS 7. They say Apple’s new operating system removed supervision filters from student iPads. Those filters had been put in place to keep students from accessing inappropriate content and overloading networks with video downloads.
