Intel to unveil 10 new Atom tablets at Computex

“I’ll take your iPad and raise you 10” – seems to be Intel Corp.’s message to tablet hungry consumers, as the firm readies itself for the launch of almost a dozen new devices running on its own Atom chips at Computex, Taipei.

If 10 design wins is not enough to grab consumers’ attention, Intel apparently plans to have over 35 Atom-based tablets in the market by the end of 2011.

It’s been a year since Intel unveiled its Oak Trail chips for ultra-ultra thin PCs and tablets in Taipei during the last Computex show, but this year, the chip giant is promising to deliver the goods, with tablets in all shapes, sizes and OS flavors.

We’re told we can expect tablets running Android, Windows and even MeeGo, as well as special secure “personal” tablets aimed at enterprise customers worried about their private data.

We’ll be bringing you first looks and hands on demos with these tablets as we see them in Taipei very shortly.
