Telefonica Chile SA, Chile’s largest telephone company, plans to invest $700 million this year, Diario Financiero said.
The company plans to invest a significant portion of that amount in broadband and fiber optic assets, the Santiago-based newspaper said, citing Claudio Munoz, the company’s chairman.
Telefonica Chile SA is a unit of Spain’s Telefonica SA.
