XY-Mobile acquires Bonsai Networks

HERNDON, Va.-XY-Mobile, a distributor of wireless software rating, billing and customer management solutions, said it acquired Bonsai Networks, which provides service enabling platforms for convergent Wi-Fi networks.

Bonsai’s SEP integrates access control and support functions such as billing, roaming, deployment and management services on a single, integrated system, said the company. Bonsai’s solutions allow Wi-Fi providers to quickly introduce new revenue-generating services while managing customer quality of service, said the companies.

“We are excited to acquire Bonsai Networks,” said JanEric Boers, chairman of XY-Mobile. “This expands our solutions capabilities in the growing OSS/BSS market. Bonsai Networks has established significant partnerships and customer relationships in both North America and Europe.”

Bonsai’s management team will be combined with the management team of XY-Mobile. Boers will serve as chairman and chief executive officer and Andrew Burroughs will serve as chief operating officer.

“By joining the XY-Mobile family of companies, Bonsai Networks will command more resources and support for its continued global expansion. We have recently introduced an ASP based Wi-Fi solution that we believe has great market growth potential,” said Jim Pflaging, CEO of Bonsai Networks.

Pflaging will become a member of XY-Mobile’s strategic advisory board.
