Capital Markets: FMHC acquires MDM; quarterly results; and more

FMHC Corp., which is a turnkey wireless site developer, acquired MDM Construction Inc., a general contractor that provides installation, maintenance, technical and construction services to the wireless industry.
Ntelos (NTLS) said it launched financing for an incremental term loan of $125 million under its existing senior credit facility. The company said it plans to use the proceeds as the primary source of funding for its recently announced acquisition of FiberNet. Ntelos also released preliminary second-quarter results, including revenues of $132 million.
AT&T reported revenues of $30.8 billion, up slightly from revenues of $30.6 billion during the same period last year. Net income was $4.1 billion, or 68 cents per share, compared with net income of $3.3 billion, or 54 cents per share, for the second quarter of 2009.
Nokia (NOK) reported net sales of $13 billion for the second quarter, up 1% from revenues of $12.9 billion during the same quarter last year. Net profit for the quarter was $135 million, or 7 cents per share, compared with profit of $373 million, or 13 cents per share, reported during last year’s second quarter.
Ericsson (ERIC) reported net sales of $6.6 billion for the second quarter, compared with net sales of $7.2 billion during last year’s second quarter. Net income was $274.8 million, or 8 cents per share, compared with net income of $109.9 million, or 4 cents per share, for the same period last year.
Verizon (VZ) reported revenues of $26.8 billion for the second quarter, which was nearly even with revenues of $26.9 billion during the same period last year. Net income for the quarter was $1.5 billion, compared with net income of $3.2 billion during the second quarter last year. Net loss per share, however, was 7 cents, compared with net income per share of 52 cents during last year’s second quarter. The loss was attributed to adjustments of 65 cents per share.
Qualcomm (QCOM) said its revenues for its third fiscal quarter of 2010 totaled $2.7 billion, down 2% from revenues of $2.75 billion during the same period last year. Net income was $767 million, or 47 cents per share, compared with net income of $737 million, or 45 cents per share, during the corresponding period last year.
Alvarion (ALVR) reported revenues of $49 million for the second quarter, down from $58.7 million during the second quarter of last year. Net loss was $10.6 million, or 17 cents per share, compared with $4 million, or 6 cents per share, during the same period last year.
PCTEL Inc. (PCTI) reported revenues of $17.8 million, up 33% from revenues of $13.4 million reported during the same period last year. Net loss for the quarter was $1 million, or 6 cents per share, compared with net loss of $1.3 million, or 7 cents per share, during the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Numerex Corp. (NMRX) reported net sales of $14.9 million for the second quarter, up 18% from sales of $12.6 million the company reported during the second quarter of last year. Net income for the quarter was $387,000, or 3 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $792 million, or 6 cents per share, during the corresponding quarter last year.
Tessco Technologies Inc. (TESS) said its revenues for the first fiscal quarter of 2011were $142 million, up from revenues of $108.8 million the company reported during last year’s fiscal first quarter. Net income was $2.1 million, or 26 cents per share, compared with income of $1.9 million, or 25 cents per share, during the same period last year.
Tellabs (TLAB) reported revenues of $423 million, up 10% from revenues of $385 million during the second quarter of 2009. Net income was $64 million, or 17 cents per share, compared with net income of $16 million, or 16 cents per share, the company reported during the same period the previous year.
F5 Networks (FFIV) said its revenues increased 45.7% percent to $230.5 million during its third fiscal quarter of 2010 from revenues of $158.2 million during the third fiscal quarter of 2009. Net income for the quarter was $40.5 million, or 50 cents per share, compared with income of $22.8 million, or 29 cents per share, for the corresponding period last year.
