The Global mobile Suppliers Association said the number of LTE network commitments worldwide has increased 50% to 39 from an earlier report in March. The commitments have come from 19 countries, with 14 LTE networks scheduled to be operational by the end of 2010 and a total of 31 operational by the end of 2012.
Domestically, Verizon Wireless has said it plans to have pre-commercial networks covering Boston and Seattle by the end of 2009 and up to 30 markets covering 100 million potential customers by the end of 2010.
