Boston-based go2Media is expanding beyond local listings with a new portal for local, personalized entertainment information.
The company this week unveiled go2Music, a mobile-targeted site with news on upcoming concerts, music reviews, venue information and a search offering. The product is the first component in what the company hopes will be a broad service that delivers a host of personalized information such as news, weather, sports and entertainment to users via their phones. The site leverages content from Zvents Inc., an online destination offering information on upcoming concerts, local showtimes and other information, as well as a go2’s new network of paid writers. The site is ad-supported and accessible with any Web-enabled phone. “Local music is an area that has been underserved on mobile for too long,” said go2 President Dan Smith. “By combining Zvents’ comprehensive local event listings with go2’s nationwide local editorial network, we have created a complete mobile experience for discovering local music.” |
