Leap Wireless International Inc. said it is deploying GenBand Inc.’s G9 Converged Media Gateway to deliver enhanced voice quality and IP services on its network.
The G9 product complements Genband’s Media Gateway and C3 platform, which already are operating on Leap’s network. The G9 platform provides voice quality enhancements and will interface with a wider selection of mobile switching centers, which can give Cricket more flexibility as its network grows, GenBand said.
“The all-in-one voice server technology and enhanced functionality of the G9 support Cricket’s evolving business needs and allow them to deploy the most cost-effective IP network possible,” said Keith Landau, executive VP of research and development at GenBand.
