Mobile video technology Transpera is targeting Apple Inc.’s iPhone with a platform for distributing Web videos and targeted ads.
The Santa Monica, Calif.-based startup launched a package designed to insert five- to 10-second pre-roll ads during video playback on iPhones. The move comes as rumors fly surrounding the iPhone SDK (software development kit), which is expected to be released this week.
“It is important for Transpera to cater to the iPhone user and great fun to build a product tailor-made for the iPhone’s unique video delivery capabilities and next-generation interface,” said Nick Glassman, Transpera’s VP of products.
