Mobile banking providers ClairMail Inc. and mFoundry announced a new partnership and their first joint customer: BB&T Corp., which operates financial centers in 11 states.
The two mobile banking companies are joining forces to offer a “triple-play” of mobile banking options: messaging, mobile Web and a client application.
The first customer of their joint effort is BB&T, which will offer banking functions through multiple user interfaces. ClairMail and mFoundry said that their joint product will enable multiple two-way services, including account management, fraud mitigation and no-hold customer service, as well as real-time alerts during circumstances set by the consumer-such as a daily balance alert, or an alert when an account reaches a low or zero balance.
BB&T’s three-phase rollout of mobile banking services will begin next month and be completed in the first quarter of 2008.
