MobiTV Inc. is stepping up its efforts in North and South America, but is not pulling up stakes in Europe.
The Emeryville, Calif.-based mobile video company plans to terminate its content aggregator service for 3G UK Ltd. and reportedly no longer provides a downloadable application for subscribers with Orange S.A.. Despite reports, however, the company plans to remain active across the pond, according to Jason Taylor, global director of corporate communications for MobiTV.
“(W)e have made the business decision to focus our key resources on (North and South America) for now,” Taylor said in an e-mail. “Although we do plan to transition some alliances in the U.K. market, MobiTV will not be leaving the U.K. or European markets and will continue to deliver technology and content support to key partners such as Orange.”
