Alltel Corp. announced that it hired a wireless industry veteran to coordinate its mobile advertising strategy for its data services and technology platforms.
Eric Martin has spent 11 year working in the wireless industry, Alltel said, and was most recently a group marketing manager for Sprint Nextel Corp., where he oversaw media, analyst and marketing communication strategy for business devices. Martin also has worked for MCI, Leo Burnett Co. and Intelig Telecomunicados, Ltd. in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, according to the carrier.
An Alltel spokesman said that Martin would be responsible for “coordinating the company’s mobile ad strategy across Alltel’s Axcess suite of data services and technology platforms. He will guide Alltel’s aggressive plans to be a leader in the rapidly expanding mobile advertising market.”
