Buongiorno S.p.A. reported a net profit of $16.2 million for 2006, more than doubling its bottom line from the previous year.
The content aggregator said it generated $253 million in revenue last year, up 41 percent from 2005, selling 1.4 billion pieces of content to more than 60 million customers. Buongiorno, which operates online storefronts around the world under the Blinko brand, cited strong growth in the United States as well as South America and the Iberian Peninsula in southwest Europe.
The Milan, Italy-based company also confirmed its guidance for 2007, forecasting revenues between $303 million and $330 million.
Buongiorno has been hastily looking to expand its business, however, as ringtone sales flatten and margins narrow for content aggregators. The firm recently acquired HotSMS BV, an Amsterdam-based mobile advertising company, and in January acquired Inventa, a mobile video production company.
